Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, NLT).
I want to tell you about one of the ministries here at Lakewood Church that we are so proud of, and that is the Stephen Ministry.
We all go through difficult times in life when we need encouragement, prayer, and support. That's what the Stephen Ministry offers. Stephen Ministers are members of Lakewood Church who have been trained to provide confidential, one-on-one, Christian care to people who are going through difficult times. They will listen, encourage, pray, and provide weekly support as long as needed. We've heard so many wonderful testimonies of people getting through challenges, overcoming addictions, and pressing past obstables by connecting with the Stephen Ministry.
The Bible says that when two or more are gathered in His name, He is in their midst. Maybe you don't have a strong circle of faith around you in your daily life. Why don't you connect with the Stephen Ministry? If you're feeling down, overwhelmed, lonely, stressed or discouraged, you could benefit from the care, support, and encouragement of a Stephen Minister. It's free, it's confidential, and it will make a difference in your life!
If you would like to find our more about the Stephen Ministry for yourself or someone you know, talk with our Stephen Ministry Director, Duran A. Dones at 713-491-1297 or email duron@lakewood.cc. Our Stephen Ministers are ready to bring God's love and care into your life! Also, if you have a heart for hurting people and would like to become a Stephen Minister, we'll give you all the training you need.
Victoria and I want to thank the Stephen Ministers and all our volunteers for their faithful service and love for God's people. You are the hands and feet of Jesus in the earth. May He bless you abundantly for the see you've sown into the lives of others.
...there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24, NIV).
